Building a new home was never part of my plan when I moved to Omaha; I just didn't want all the hassle and stress ... but after viewing a McCaul model home and meeting Brenda and Jeff, my mind was changed. The quality of the craftsmanship is unparalleled, and the same is true of the subcontractors and vendors they work with. Never once did I feel that my opinion wasn't heard or respected. Everyone who has visited my new home is so impressed with the great floor plan, efficient use of space, and attention to detail in the workmanship. "It feels so warm and cozy" ..... I can't count the times I've heard that! Doing business with the McCaul family has been a true pleasure and unexpected blessing.
We cannot begin to describe how happy I am with my McCaul home! The craftsmanship is well-above the standard custom homebuilder. The fact that it is so energy-efficient amazes us. Our utility bills are hundreds of dollars less than what family, friends and Co-workers are paying. Jeff and Brenda made the entire home building process feel like a walk in the park. They are extremely honest, helpful and no-nonsense kind of people - these are extremely important qualities to look for when choosing a custom homebuilder. If we ever decide to move out of our current home, we'll definitely be building another McCaul custom home. We recommend McCaul Homes to everyone thinking about building a new custom home - you won't be disappointed.
From the high quality flooring and lovely windows to the beautiful tile backsplash, this is the home we dreamed of for raising our family. It has everything we ever wanted. We researched dozens of homes and really no other builder could compare to the quality we found in this home.
Jeff’s pride in craftsmanship is reflected throughout our home. He built us a great, quality home and did it ahead of schedule. When we build another home, our first call will be to McCaul. Jeff made our home building experience a good one!
McCaul is the builder for us. Quality is our top priority. Jeff McCaul and his crew cut no corners and we couldn’t be happier in our new family home.
I met Brenda on a Saturday in a McCaul Home model - in fact, it's the home we bought! And I knew the minute I walked in, I had to have that house. The home was warm and inviting. The great room was cozy with a fireplace and the beautiful eat-in kitchen with its wood floors, granite countertops and stainless appliances immediately caught my eye! But it has been the wonderfully planned little things that Jeff built into the home that we love – the big kitchen drawers for pots and pans, the pull-out kitchen trash, the spacious and well–placed pantry. And most of all – the master suite closet. I think that Jeff had the foresight to plan a closet that utilized the high ceiling of the great room on the other side – so I have space for all of my shoes! We love the finished basement and the large storage room. We feel confident knowing that if anything needs attention – that Jeff is good on his word and has put it in writing with his home warranty. I highly recommend McCaul Homes!
Honesty and Trustworthiness:
A sentence that sticks out in my mind from one of our first conversations about buying/selling our home was from Brenda McCaul. She said that she was very “honest and had never been arrested or even had a traffic ticket”. I certainly couldn’t make that claim. I found Brenda and Jeff both to be very honest with us while our home was being built.. Mistakes will happen and that is a fact of nature, we are all humans. But when they did, Brenda and Jeff would let us know right away and did not try to cover them up or make them seem not important They were all small errors as far as I am concerned, but they gave us other options and then allowed us to make our decision. We were allowed to see our home in all stages of its construction. Nothing was a hidden dark secret. We met and saw all of the other trades that worked on our home. They were all very hard-working men.
Jeff and his brother work side by side at the job site. They take pride in the work they do and we could tell they enjoyed what they were doing and it was not just a job for them. Their mother is a delightful lady and takes pride in the homes her sons build. She can be found on weekends showing the model homes.
Some of my ideas that I wanted incorporated in my dream home, lets say were not of the sound mind! Jeff vlffh his experience in building homes would tell me that he could do it the way I wanted but he did not advise us to do it that way because of the long term effect. One time he absolutely refused because it was against his better judgment. Jeff allways had a sound reason behind his thinking and then gave us different options to obtain the same outcome but with a better way of reaching it. He then would let us decide. We relied on his experience in building homes and his good judgment.
Choice of Vendors:
The different vendors we visited to pick out the furnishings for our new home were wonderful to work with. They were very nice to work with. Great personalities, good customer service and did not try to steer us towards going over our budget. People that stick out in my mind that we had great customer service from were: Leo Kudirka, the painter; Megan the window covering expert; Traci from Imperial Tile; Julie the Interior Designer; Linda at Builders Supply; and I can’t remember her name, but the lady at Winnelson Plumbing. The vendors had respect for McCaul Homes. We heard this statement several times “the McCaul boys, they are nice to do business with and
build good homes”.
Tom and I researched many different builders in the Omaha area over 5 years before we found and chose McCaul Homes. We are extremely happy with our new home experience. From our perspective the whole experience went very smooth. We attribute this to Jeff’s: honesty/trustworthiness, experience in building homes, respect from the vendors he uses in the local community, and that it is a Family business / not just a job!
